Tulare County Prevention Coalition

The Tulare County Prevention Coalition (TCPC) is a group that aims to prevent alcohol and other drug misuse/abuse in Tulare County. The coalition was formed in 2012 and consists of community members, providers, and stakeholders who work together with governmental agencies to create measurable and sustainable community change.

The current priority areas for prevention efforts are:

  • Youth marijuana use

  • Underage drinking

  • Prescription drug misuse and abuse

Although these are the current priority areas, the coalition is also aware of emerging issues such as Fentanyl and opiate misuse/abuse and vaping misuse/abuse that need to be addressed.

The TCPC provides its members with opportunities to participate in various activities, such as:

  • Press releases

  • Community events

  • Social media prevention efforts

  • Trainings on substance use disorders

  •  Conference development

TCPC meets Quarterly (January/April/July/October) on the second Wednesday of the month. This is a hybrid meeting, offered virtually and in-person. If you are interested in joining the TCPC or know of an individual or organization that would be a good fit, you can contact Celestino Rayos, Chairmen at (559) 696-4000 or Aide Sanchez, Co-Chairwomen at (559) 688-2994.
